The director is Daniel Askill, a music video director behind videos for UNKLE, Placebo and Digitalism among others, and who also is the star of the second ritual. His penchant for water environments, slo-mo movement and other usual trademarks of his work are all present here.

Beautiful short film! Very engaging. The music & visuals compliment each other so well.
beautifull
its pretty nice, i like it
Pretentious snoozefest. Wow, what wankery. Director needs to learnt that just because something's in slow motion doesn't make it dramatic. This thing could have had considerable more impact (it has sub-zero at the moment) were it a fifth of the length.
This was too longg
amazing!!..
Awesome, beautiful, inspiring
i think the length of the piece was perfect, it helped to build up an anticipation for me which kept me more engaged in the film. it was a little dramatic at parts, but that aspect added extra beauty to the film for me.
the length of the piece was perfect. it built up a great anticipation for what was happening. the slo-mo shots gave the piece more drama, which also added to the beauty. i was very engaged through out the whole piece, and enjoyed the idea of using black/white as a metaphor between life and death.
I thoroughly enjoyed this film.
To the naysayers: if you don't get it, you don't get it.
Wow!!!
I'm impressed! That's a pretty nice and amazing short film!
Thank you for this!
This is BILL VIOLA but saddly interpreted.
Water, emerging figures, slow motion, and the presentation of birth, life-between, and death as a tryptique is his idea (see NANTES tryptique)
Dissapointing, because this "art"looks like a dermatology comercial, awful hollywood lights and as I noted, no real idea or intellectual process behind it.
SEARCH FOR BILL VIOLA'S VIDEO ART!!!
